I am going to spend thanksgiving with my boyfriend and his family. They are very preppy and can be on the formal side. What would be a great outfit to wear on Thanksgiving?

First off, ask your boyfriend what the women in his family typically wear to a family event and take cues from that. Obviously, in a situation like this you want to keep it conservative: no cleavage, short skirts or too-high heels. A knee-length shirtdress (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2942054/0~2376788~6002242~6007600~6007613?mediumthumbnail= Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6007613&P=15) worn with knee-high boots (http://www.lizclaiborne.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2856813&siteID=J84DHJLQkR4-qeD61UqxAAo77v.EGnGy3w) or T-strap heels (http://www.piperlime.com/browse/product.do?pid=547680002&tid=PLAF1&ap=2&siteID=2178999) would be both fetching and appropriate. Or you could try a trendy sweaterdress (http://www.revolveclothing.com/DisplayProduct.jsp?product=TROV-WD34&c=Trovata&d=1&sc=Dresses+%26+Skirts&source=shopstyle) in a festive color.
